These two pages demonstrate an interesting \u201cbefore and after\u201d image of Lincoln. \u00a0Currier & Ives artists removed the second line of the original caption for the image on the left (\u201cRepublican Candidate For\u201d) and added a thick, bushy beard to Mathew Brady\u2019s original 1860 photograph of Lincoln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
