{"id":90,"date":"2019-10-31T15:31:12","date_gmt":"2019-10-31T20:31:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/exhibitions.lib.udel.edu\/alan-kaufman\/?page_id=90"},"modified":"2025-07-01T14:48:40","modified_gmt":"2025-07-01T19:48:40","slug":"home","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/exhibitions.lib.udel.edu\/alan-kaufman\/","title":{"rendered":"Home"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This small exhibit, on display in Morris Library through May 2017, marks the occasion of Alan Kaufman\u2019s visit to campus to speak with students and visitors at&nbsp;<strong>HIST\/JWST 254&nbsp;<\/strong>Jewish Holocaust: 1933-1945.&nbsp; The class is taught by Professor Polly Zavadivker, director of the Jewish Studies Program at the University of Delaware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The art, sketch book, published works, and family papers shown here speak to \u201cRemembrance and Visions,\u201d a theme that can be said to arch over all aspects of Kaufman\u2019s extensive body of art and literature.&nbsp; Kaufman\u2019s Jewish heritage is central to his identity and creative work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Library began acquiring Kaufman\u2019s papers in 2007.&nbsp; In 2013, Kaufman donated letters and photographs from his mother, Marie Jucht Kaufman, a French Jewish survivor of the Holocaust.&nbsp; Both collections are available for research in Special Collections.&nbsp; Marie Jucht Kaufman\u2019s letters bearing witness to the Holocaust in France have been digitized for online access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Credits:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Selection curated by L.
