Church Review <\/em>was established in 1841 by Rev. George Hogarth and had a revival in 1884. <em>The A.M.E. Church Review <\/em>was published quarterly. <em>The Review<\/em> is the journal of the African Methodist Episcopal Church publishing articles on world events, religion, politics, and history. The African Methodist Episcopal Church was founded by Richard Allen in 1816.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The January 1914 issue was edited by Reverdy C. Ransom D.D. and features a Symposium on Fifty Years of Freedom. The publication has editorials and illustrations as well as a section titled, \u201cWithin the Sphere of Letters.\u201d Some of the writers of this issue include Thomas Jesse Jones, Ph.D., James B.
