The artists in this section celebrate a world teeming with life. From the moment<br>Pueblo peoples emerged from the earth herself, they have held a deep connection to<br>the land. Ancient alliances with the earth, animals, and all life foster reciprocity with<br>the land. Foregrounded in kinship with all things, Pueblo science emphasizes<br>participating in nature rather than merely observing it. One form of participation is<br>pottery making. Looking back at Pueblo pottery over many generations, an ecological<br>history of Pueblo homelands appears. Makers represent weather, water, and animals<br>on their pots, giving us a glimpse of their environment.
