Expanding on Dr. Felicia Henry\u2019s 2023 exhibition, <em>I\u2019m Literally Taking It Out The Mud<\/em> <em>(ILTIOTM)<\/em>, this new installation delves deeper into the voices of Black women impacted by the criminal legal system during the COVID-19 pandemic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drawing from both <em>ILTIOTM<\/em> and the University of Delaware\u2019s Special Collections, <em>Transcendent Resilience<\/em> examines the intersectional oppression inherent in the carceral system while celebrating the creative resistance and transformative power of artivism\u2014activism expressed through art. This exhibition not only historicizes the experiences of <em>ILTIOTM<\/em> participants but also highlights their ingenuity, resilience and joy in the face of adversity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curated by graduate students from the University of Delaware\u2019s Museum Studies Program, <em>Transcendent Resilience<\/em> is a testament to the strength and creativity of Black women navigating systemic challenges. Through this rich, thought-provoking exhibition, visitors will gain insight into the ways Artivism serves as a catalyst for resistance, healing, and community-building.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We invite you to join us in honoring the artivist creations and the enduring resilience showcased in <em>Transcendent Resilience.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Credits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-white-color has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-5935f94b75e598cbe27645b277cf0f5d\" style=\"background-color:#00539f\">This exhibition is curated by students of the Exhibition Curation class at UD:\u00a0Sarah Bradshaw, Ellie Carver, Kallie Comardelle, Katie Cynkar, Samantha Hertel, Graham Titus, and Ashley Vernon.
