About This Exhibition:
This exhibition contains a selection of materials from the University of Delaware Library’s Special Collections related to LGBTQ+ history in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Ranging from candid photographs to activist publications, these artifacts highlight a variety of LGBTQ+ people and experiences, from the UD campus and beaches of Delaware to the metropolitan hubs of Philadelphia and New York City.
To learn more about Delaware’s LGBTQ+ history (including more information about the individuals featured on our poster), we encourage you to visit @delawarequeerhistory on Instagram as well as Delaware.gov’s LGBTQ+ History of Delaware website.
Special thanks to Carolanne Deal for their work on @delawarequeerhistory and LGBTQ+ History of Delaware, both of which we drew upon for this exhibition.
