Fleda Brown (b. 1944)
Fleda Brown taught in the English Department at University of Delaware from 1978 to 2007. She was Poet Laureate of Delaware from 2001 to 2007. She has authored numerous collections, and her book Reunion won the 2017 Felix Pollak Prize. Her most recent volume is entitled The Woods Are on Fire: New & Selected Poems (2017). Many of Jackson’s poems take observations from nature as the basis for reflection on aspects of human experience. Certain poems also evoke life in Delaware.
