These two pages demonstrate an interesting “before and after” image of Lincoln.  Currier & Ives artists removed the second line of the original caption for the image on the left (“Republican Candidate For”) and added a thick, bushy beard to Mathew Brady’s original 1860 photograph of Lincoln.
