Slam poetry is a form of spoken word performance poetry, held at a competitive poetry event or ‘slam’. Poets perform their own work which is “judged” on a numeric scale by randomly picked members of the audience. This exhibit highlights slam poetry’s founding father, publicity, women’s contribution to the art and specific poets.

This exhibition was originally on display in the first floor Information Area of Morris Library from February 1-June 10, 2011.
