Gelatin offered children the rare opportunity to play with their food. In the 1960s and 70s, Jell-O began offering recipe books geared towards children. In Amazing, Magical Jell-O Desserts (1977), Jell-O offered kid-friendly recipes alongside magic trick demonstrations by "The Amazing Marvello."
