Senator Kaufman visited St. Georges Technical High School in Middletown, Delaware, on January 8, 2010. St. Georges is a comprehensive vocational technical high school in New Castle County. The school curriculum includes a biotechnology career program where students master science and math skills required for entry-level positions in Delaware’s biotech industry and for acceptance into bioscience programs at the postsecondary level. Students in the biotechnology program at St. Georges engage in lab skills such as extracting DNA from fruit, preparing general solutions, ordering supplies, and performing forensic investigations.
