During and after his time in Congress, Senator Kaufman wrote opinion editorials for various news outlets. Kaufman was vocal on several issues including advocating for STEM education and programs. He believed that it was fundamentally important for America's political and educational leaders to support STEM and to encourage young people to pursue STEM degrees and careers in order for the United States to meet the needs of of a competitive global economy.
